Our Mission: Open the doors of The Grand! Engage the enitre community through education, outreach, artisitic partnership and civic collaboration; and, create an environment in which people understand and use the resource that is The Grand. You are wlecome here through many doors! We serve children, adults, teachers care-givers, school groups, community and corporate leaders who are interested in theatre experiences, learning activites, seminars and workshops that enlighten and entertain.
The Arts Academy at The Grand
Our performing arts center offers an emphasis on holistic education in music, theatre and dance. Whether you are young or old, exceptional or aspiring or preparing for a career or a hobby, our gifted teachers will help you to understand what you need to learn and how to tap into your potential. Your performing arts education can include learning in all aspects of your chosen discipline, not just one-on-one instruction. You may study a wide variety of performance based disciplines. A Stage of Discovery
2008-2009 School Matinee Series
The upcoming season brings a host of characters and stories to delight and enthrall your students. With offerings for grades K-12, and presentations of diversity ranging from professional dance to beloved fairy tales, our season promises to once again deliver entertaining and educational theatre experiences to students of all ages! To ensure that students get the most from their theatre experience, our matinee program includes the option of workshops before your trip and study guides to use in the classroom. Teen Volunteer Opportunities
Several departments at The Grand offer volunteer opportunities for high school and college students to gain knowledge in their craft, work experience, and an important connection to the local arts community. Other opportunities include The Grand's
Volunteer Usher Program, where volunteers of all ages have the opportunity to interact with Grand attendees, as well as see a number of Grand Opera House performances.
